Movie Review: The Kingdom

After 9/11, Hollywood found new war zone and that's The Middle East. Though The Kingdom is not about Iraq, it is about it's neighbor Saudi Arabia.

This time the target of the terrorist attack is a USA base in Riyadh. And FBI agent Ronald Fleury decides to nail down the terrorist hub. His team contains crime analyst (Jennifer Garner) to explosive expert (Chris Cooper). and they have full five days to finish the operation.

This time limit, automaticaly gave the movie the pace it requires. They are hamstrung by protoccol and distrust. There are foreign policies, laws that dont make them go straight to their target. The team is offered no help from Saudi Authorities. The drama reaches it's peak with the start of dirty politics.

The movie has Jamie Foxx (as Ronald Fleury) and Jennifer Garner (as Janet Mayes). But truely Jamie Fox is wasted in this movie. There is no Foxx magic. The Direction of Peter Berg is good. The movie starts with small documentary about USA's relationship with the Kingodm. This starts makes you feel that you will watch something more real. But as movie progresses you feel like you watching regular 'FBI VS Baddies' movies.

The script writing and story telling make you sit tight till the end. In short the movie is good but not the excellent.
