The Incredible Hulk

I dread watching superhero movies. I mean, I have watched almost all superhero movies with great interest and excitement, but once I saw Superman Returns, I could see how a person could massacre a concept. Anyway, whenever I hear about a superhero movie, I wonder whether it would be as good as Spider Man 3 or will it ravage the fan boy in me like Superman Returns.
It was with these thoughts that I was herded into the cinema hall for ‘The Incredible Hulk’. I had seen ‘The Hulk’ and was conveniently disappointed by the mythos and the ethos they had put in a green monster.
However, ‘The Incredible Hulk’ changed all that, and we are bought back to the quick paced and racy storytelling of yore of comic books. The entire backstory is told in a single flashback, conveniently placed at the beginning of the movie, while the movie itself is one hell of a story.
What work for the movie are the fast paced storyline and the excellent, exquisite and brilliant graphics and action scenes. The action scenes are a sure shot winner for the best animation at the Oscars or any other awards they have out there.
And for the first time after Spiderman, do I think we could actually delve into the lovestory of a superhero without being bogged down by the rampant emotions in the story. Why, we could even hear a giggle in the stands during the failed love scene between the main characters.
Maybe some of the finest action animation scenes ever filmed is contained within this film. Each and every action scene, right from the entrance of the Incredible Hulk to the final climax, where he has to fight with the Abomination are handled quite well by the director and everyone on the crew. This is the way action superhero movies are to be made, Bryan Singer take note.
